Postion Summary: 

Our client is looking for a Security Test Engineer at our corporate headquarters in the North Loop of Minneapolis. As a software company, this position is key in contributing to our success and our customers. We’re looking for a high energy, self-starter who has a passion for software application security.

Core Responsibilities: 

As a Security Test Engineer you will have responsibility for the development, execution, and communication of the security test plans for our client’s products. You will collaborate with Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers and Product Managers to understand the products and the architecture to develop the best security test plan. You will stay current in the security test industry and continuously monitor and evaluate new tools and technologies to keep our client at the leading end of security testing.

  • Develop and communicate a best in class security test strategy and plan
  • Evaluate and recommend tools to use
  • Work with team of Software Engineers in Test to develop and automated security testing framework
  • Monitor and communicate the results of security tests and communicate risk
  • Respond to security related questions from company stakeholders and customers
  • Proactively monitor security testing industry trends and make recommendations
  • Coordinate with independent security test teams for audits as necessary
  • Monitor CVE database and assess impact to our client

Desired Skills: 

  • Experience in testing software applications for security vulnerabilities
  • Broad knowledge of security testing tools
  • Knowledge of typical multi-tier application architecture
  • Knowledge of networks and technologies such as proxy servers and firewalls
  • Knowledge of Java and technologies such as HTTP, REST, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


  • 3+ years’ experience with security testing
  •  2+ years’ experience with test automation frameworks
  • Bachelor’s Degree or greater in Computer Science or equivalent

Working Relationships: 

  • Report to R&D manager or above
  • Work closely with development, quality assurance and product management

  • Ability to be on feet while performing job responsibilities
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time depending on your position and/or getting up and down through your work shift
  • Frequent alpha/numeric keyboarding
  • Ability to view a computer for a long period of time
