Job Summary: 

The Senior IT Environment Analyst is responsible for assisting the Manager of IT Environments with the planning, building and maintaining of the organization’s IT development and test environments. This includes the data subsetting and data masking (DSDM) of the databases in those environments. The position is responsible for developing and implementing subsetting and masking solutions using both third party vendor tools as well as custom code where needed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain processes for creating and maintaining the DSDM environments
  • Drive the creation and automation of solutions to provide custom masked data configurations
  • Develop work estimates and keep project managers informed of progress
  • Provide effective and timely communication and support to DSDM environment users
  • Contribute and adhere to the Enterprise Environment strategy
  • Work in close collaboration with Infrastructure, Application Development, and QA teams in delivery of requested DSDM environments
  • Work in close collaboration with Corporate Compliance on meeting PHI de-identification compliance regulations
  • Automate and package DSDM processes into reusable routines that others can perform to create or refresh DSDM databases and source files
  • Prepare detailed functional specifications, design models, and system workflows for DSDM processes
  • Support, troubleshoot, and maintain subsetting and masking processes as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing timely follow-up on identified issues
  • Defines and maintain the organization’s IT DSDM development standards and best practices


  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university in computer science
  • Other equivalent combination of education and experience

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT in a development or QA role
  • 5+ years of experience in the use of structured and object oriented systems analysis, design, development tools, and techniques
  • 3+ years of experience in PL/SQL or SQL
  • 2+ years of experience in RDBMS concepts and entity relationships using Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle DBMS
  • Other Experience with working on large and complex IT and business change projects
  • Other Healthcare experience a plus

  • Other Utilizing SQL editors such as TOAD or equivalent

  • Other information data privacy or similar tools
