Job Description:

The Project Manager is expected to plan and lead projects and programs for our client. This requires the Project Manager to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization including senior management, project team members and vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Direct and manage multiple large and/or complex projects and programs simultaneously at the Credit Union
  • Create an engaging project climate to engage teams and partners to perform at their fullest potential
  • Lead project teams in developing vision, scope, success criteria and business purpose for all project endeavors
  • Lead the project team in the successful planning, management, and implementation of projects; create order out of ambiguity
  • Ensure that executive sponsors, project sponsors, stakeholders, and team members receive consistent, accurate and timely communication regarding project needs, status, issues and risks
  • Escalate appropriately to ensure successful execution and to eliminate conflict and roadblocks
  • Maintain project tempo and pace
  • Keep the project team on track for meeting major milestones and deliverables
  • Follow the prescribed project management methodology on all projects
  • Document all facets of projects including, but not limited to, project implementation, disaster recovery, production support plans, and control documents per the project methodology
  • Guide our client’s leadership and project teams through the prescribed project methodology process
  • Develop and coach project team members’ roles and expectations for successful project implementations
  • Where required manage the activities of vendors, consultants and outside resources that may be working on assigned projects
  • Motivated to learn new business and project management concepts

  • Maintain effective communication with all Credit Union employees to ensure coordination and exchange of information for accomplishing Credit Union goals
  • Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to: U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act

Physical Requirements: 

  • Additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives and goals
  • Vision (or corrected) to normal range

Education/Experience Required: 

  • B.A. or B.S. degree with emphasis in project management or business or equivalent work experience
  • Seven or more years’ experience in leading projects or serving in a project management type of role; Three or more of those years as a consultant and three or more of those years managing IT projects
  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodology and/or advanced knowledge of multiple technical software delivery life cycles
  • Experience leading technical and business projects in the credit union or financial industry is preferred
  • Certifications such as BPM, Six Sigma or PMP are desired
