Job Description:

The SAP Payroll Configurator is responsible for translating the Business requirements of the Functional Area related to Payroll, Payroll Taxes, and Time Entry in to the SAP system via the SAP Configuration IMG (SAP Implementation Guide).  This also includes all aspects of project work, on-going functional enhancements, trouble-shooting, and SAP provided system and/or legal changes. An SAP Configurator collaborates with the functional and technical teams on all phases of the software development life-cycle (SDLC) with a focus on the analysis, design, and development of configuration-based solutions. Must continuously maintain and develop the necessary skillsets, both technical and analytical to enhance value-added business solutions and in keeping with the IT architecture.

Education and Certification Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technology, business, or other related field of study; from an accredited institution in accordance with our client’s education policy

Education and Certification Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree with a concentration in related technology or business discipline from an accredited institution in accordance with our client’s education policy
  • Multiple certifications demonstrating a breadth of knowledge over technology and business, for example: Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), ITIL v3

Experience and Skill Required:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of SAP US Payroll Configuration experience supporting an SAP ECC 6.0 landscape and the SAP Enterprise Portal (i.e., Employee Self-Service & Manger Self-Service) , this experience must include:
  • Creation, maintenance, and support of wage types, payroll taxes, posting characteristics, tax reporter, holiday calendars, work schedules, attendances, absences and quotas, features, schemas and rules, W-4 and W-2 support
  • Creation, maintenance, and support of the Cross-application timesheet (CATS) module, Time evaluation, personnel calculation rules, payroll schemas, and time schemas
  • Creation, maintenance, and support of multi-state taxes, tax models, work tax areas, unemployment taxes, garnishments, and deductions
  • Integration of Payroll and the SAP modules/functionality pertaining to Retirement, Benefits, Compensation, and Appraisals
  • Support and maintenance of SAP Script and/or HR Forms related to remuneration statements, confirmations, and notification statements
  • Research, support, and resolution of SAP support packs, OSS notes, and Enhancement packs

  • Minimum of two (2) years of SAP US Payroll Configuration experience in the support of Payroll to Finance (FI/CO) postings and month-end accruals

Experience and Skill Preferred:

  • Direct Payroll processing support experience (i.e., working in a Payroll department/function)
  • SAP US Payroll Configuration experience supporting an SAP ECC 6.0 landscape, ideally with experience related to:
  • Creation, maintenance, and support of SQVI and ABAP queries for reporting
  • Familiarity with SAP delivered Payroll and Time reports
  • Experience with the BSI Tax Factory solution for payroll taxes; this includes assistance with regular TUB updates, BSI version (cyclic) upgrades, and SUI rate updates
