Skilled Trades & Industrial Recruiting

4 Corner Resources is a national staffing and recruiting firm based in Orlando, Florida. We place skilled trades, construction, industrial, production, and maintenance workers and managers through contract, contract-to-hire, direct hire, executive search, and fixed-fee recruiting (RPO). Whether you need a single technician or a full shift, our goal on every search is the same: we send only candidates you’ll hire.

Every candidate we submit has been screened for the licenses, certifications, and hands-on experience the job requires and has completed a face-to-face interview with one of our recruiters. We submit fewer than 2 candidates for every hire on average, because the vetting is finished before anyone is submitted.

Why Hire Skilled Trades and Industrial Workers Through a Staffing Agency?

An open role on a plant floor or a job site costs money every day it stays open. A vacant maintenance slot means deferred repairs and overtime for the rest of the crew. An open welder or machinist position holds up a production schedule. And the people who can fill these roles are usually employed, rarely answer job postings, and have no patience for a slow hiring process.

How do you fill trades roles without lowering the bar?

Our recruiters screen candidates thoroughly for technical and soft skills. We confirm licenses, certifications, and experience on the equipment you use before the first interview, and we check references with the supervisors who watched them work. Your hiring managers spend their time with people who can do the job, and a bad hire never reaches your floor.

What changes when you hire through 4CR?

Hiring managers who have hired through 4CR describe the same experience: fewer interviews, candidates who already understand the work, and hires that show up and stay. More than 20 years of placements, from single technicians to full production shifts, have taught us what’s required for success and how to deliver it.

Candidates fully screened before you meet them

We staff single openings and volume ramps with the same process. Tell us the start date and the shift, and we build the pipeline to match. Each person we present has cleared the same evaluation, however many seats you are filling.

Contract and contract-to-hire workers are our W-2 employees while on assignment. We handle the payroll, taxes, insurance, and new-hire paperwork, and you pay one all-in hourly rate.

One point of contact who owns your search

From the intake call through the start date, you have one dedicated client manager at 4 Corner Resources responsible for your search and reachable throughout it. They know your site, your shifts, and the kind of person who lasts on your crew. Your search is not handed off when something else comes up.

Skilled Trades and Industrial Staffing Services We Offer

Contract staffing

A production ramp, a seasonal peak, a plant shutdown, or a project with an end date can leave your crew stretched thin with no time for a permanent search. Contract staffing puts screened workers on your site quickly and on a defined timeline, with 4 Corner handling pay, taxes, workers’ compensation, and onboarding. For predictable busy seasons, see our seasonal hiring service.

Contract-to-hire

Some things only show up on the floor: how a technician troubleshoots under pressure, how a welder’s work holds up on inspection, whether someone shows up for every shift. Contract-to-hire puts a qualified worker on your site on 4 Corner’s payroll while you evaluate the work itself. When the fit is confirmed, you convert them with no additional fee once enough hours are logged.

Direct hire

Maintenance managers, quality managers, plant managers, and construction project leads are hires you want to get right once. Direct hire is how you build that kind of stability. We own the search from sourcing through offer, confirming licenses, certifications, and the track record behind the resume before you spend an hour in an interview.

Recruitment process outsourcing (RPO)

Operations hiring steadily across several sites or shifts need a recruiting partner embedded in their hiring rather than engaged for individual searches. RPO is built for that. 4 Corner Resources manages your industrial recruiting as a dedicated function for a flat fee, at whatever volume your operation demands, with the same screening on every hire.

Which hiring option fits your situation?

Short-term work goes to contract staffing. Evaluations go to contract-to-hire. Permanent roles go to direct hire or executive search.

How Much Does Skilled Trades and Industrial Staffing Cost?

Skilled trades and industrial staffing through 4 Corner Resources is billed one of three ways, depending on how you hire. A traditional direct hire option, with the full fee paid at the start and a replacement guarantee, is also available on request.

  • Direct hire: 18% to 25% of the new hire’s first-year total guaranteed compensation, paid as you go: 18% over 3 months, 21% over 6 months, or 25% over 12 months. Nothing is billed until your hire starts, and if they leave for any reason, the remaining payments stop. On a $50,000 hire, that’s $9,000 over 3 months, $10,500 over 6, or $12,500 over 12.
  • Contract and contract-to-hire: An all-inclusive hourly bill rate of 1.45 to 1.75 times the worker’s pay, covering wages, employer taxes, benefits, workers’ compensation, and our fee. You’re billed only for hours worked and can end a contract placement at any time, which makes it a good fit for production ramps, seasonal peaks, and project work.
  • Fixed-fee recruiting (RPO): A dedicated recruiter works your open roles for a flat fee instead of a fee per hire. Pricing is a custom quote that starts at $2,500.

Volume discounts are available for multi-position and ongoing hiring. Full terms are on our pricing page.

How We Recruit Skilled Trades and Industrial Workers

Hiring well for trades and industrial roles means verifying what a candidate can actually do before they reach your floor, and confirming they will show up to do it.

The steps below walk through how.

Understand your operation and your role

We begin with a dedicated intake conversation that covers the job description and everything around it: the shift, the equipment, the certifications you require, the safety culture on site, and what separates someone who lasts on your crew from someone who quits in a month. The better we understand your operation, the more accurately we can evaluate who belongs in it.

What you can expect: A thorough 30-minute discovery conversation that covers your site, your shifts, and the skills and credentials that define success in the role.

Define the candidate profile

Everything from the intake conversation gets translated into a detailed candidate profile that drives the search from that point forward. Every candidate is measured against that standard, which keeps the search focused on the people who can actually succeed in the role.

What you can expect: A clearly defined search target that captures the credentials, equipment experience, and reliability requirements of the role before sourcing begins.

Source from our network

We activate our existing network of trades and industrial professionals before going anywhere else. The strongest candidates in this field are often already working and not actively searching, and we reach them through relationships our recruiters have built over years of placements. We supplement with targeted sourcing where it adds value and move quickly, because an open seat on a line or a crew costs you from the first day it opens.

What you can expect: Access to qualified trades and industrial professionals who would consider the right opportunity but would never respond to a job posting on their own.

Screen for skills and reliability

Every candidate who advances goes through a structured screening with our recruiting team. We confirm the licenses and certifications the role requires, the equipment and processes a candidate has run, and how reliably they have shown up in past positions. Compensation expectations, shift availability, and start date are confirmed before anyone is presented, so there are no surprises later in the process.

What you can expect: Candidates whose credentials and hands-on experience are verified, and whose attendance record has been checked, before you meet them.

Verify with reference checks

Before any candidate is presented, we speak directly with the people who previously supervised them. We ask pointed questions about attendance, quality of work, safety, how they handled pressure on the floor, and whether their former employer would bring them back. You walk into every interview with that information already in hand.

What you can expect: First-hand, verified insight into how each candidate actually performed before you commit any time to an interview.

Present candidates with a written assessment

We present candidates with a written summary of our evaluation and a clear point of view on why we believe they are a good fit for the role. We coordinate all interview logistics so nothing slows the search down between presentation and decision, which matters when every open seat means overtime for the rest of the crew.

What you can expect: A complete picture of every candidate before you speak with them, along with a clear recommendation from the team that found them.

Manage the offer through to the start date

Once you have made your decision, we work alongside your team through the offer and acceptance, then stay engaged through the start date. A signed offer and a smooth first day are both part of what we consider a successful placement, and in trades hiring, the gap between the two is where new hires are most often lost to a counteroffer.

What you can expect: End-to-end support from offer through start date, so your team can focus on preparing for a new hire while we handle the loose ends.

Follow up after the placement

We check in with you and your new hire at regular intervals after the start date. A placement that holds is the only kind that counts, and that is the standard we measure ourselves against long after the search is closed.

What you can expect: A recruiting partner who stays engaged after the hire is made, because the only placement we count as a success is one that lasts.

What Our Clients Have to Say

We tried to work with other recruiting companies but none of them were able to find the quality candidates who also fit our very unique culture. 4 Corner is the one we have found to always fill our needs.

Meghan B., Director of Corporate Partnerships

What I like best about working with 4 Corner Resources is their speed and quality. They are always super attentive and a terrific partner. Our client manager is ideal. She is attentive; she listens; we can trust that she understands when our needs are a high priority; and she and her team tend to deliver faster than almost any other vendor.

Brandon G., Director of Operations

Our client manager was fantastic to work with. Very responsive and patient. She always did the best she could working with the information we provided her, and we have hired several candidates that she brought our way.

Skilled Trades and Industrial Staffing FAQs

How quickly can you staff a production or warehouse opening?

Searches begin immediately following an intake call. We typically identify and screen candidates for client submission within 48 hours, and for volume ramps we agree on a start date and build the pipeline to it.

Do you verify licenses and certifications for skilled trades?

Yes. Before a tradesperson is submitted, we confirm the licenses, certifications, and hands-on experience the role requires, check references with former supervisors, and complete a face-to-face interview.

Who is the employer of record for contract workers?

We are the EOR. Contract and contract-to-hire workers are 4 Corner Resources W-2 employees while on assignment. We handle payroll, taxes, workers’ compensation, and onboarding, and you pay one all-in hourly rate.

Can we hire a contractor permanently?

Yes, contract-to-hire is built for it: the worker starts on our payroll, you evaluate them on the job, and you convert them when you are ready. There is no conversion fee once enough hours are logged, and the fee is prorated if you convert earlier.

What does a direct hire cost?

Direct hire fees are 18% to 25% of first-year salary, paid monthly after each month is worked: 18% over 3 months, 21% over 6 months, or 25% over 12 months. If the hire leaves, the remaining payments are never billed. Full terms are on our pricing page.

Do you staff construction and field service roles outside Florida?

Yes. We are a national firm based in Orlando, and we recruit for job sites, plants, and field service territories across the United States.

Do I still get to make the final hiring decision?

Always. We do the filtering so you are not sorting through unqualified applicants, and every interview and final decision stay with you. We never place anyone without your approval.

What do I need to commit to before getting started?

A conversation. There is no upfront commitment and no volume requirement to begin. We start by learning about your role and giving you an honest read on the market and the timeline. You decide whether to move forward from there.
