Position Summary: 

  • The Director is responsible for the availability, usability, integrity, and security of pharma services technology assets
  • Plan, direct, and ensure the successful management of projects utilizing the complete resources of the pharma services technical group
  • Provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing methods and procedures that are efficient, effective, and meet business requirements
  • Have expert experience in cloud infrastructure management, vendor management, application development, and IT operations
  • Ability to lead the team members to help them achieve individual expectations and deliverables
  • Assess resource loads and makes appropriate individual assignments, manages team members – driving organizational effectiveness and accountability
  • Also serve as a key liaison with the rest of the IT groups and businesses; facilitating planning, prioritization, and collaboration between groups
  • Operate independently while under the general direction of the CIO when planning, implementing policies, and setting personal and subordinate priorities

Essential Functions: 

  • Work directly with business sponsors to formulate technical strategy across all IT functions in support of the pharma services businesses
  • Lead a dedicated team of cross-functional technology staff in a fast-paced environment
  • Manage and evaluate the design, development, and coordination of projects
  • Work collaboratively with other IT groups to coordinate efforts to meet department goals
  • Develop operational objectives and activities based on goals
  • Develop and communicate standards, policies and best practices
  • Conduct and assist with the development of long- and short-range goals
  • Ensure that pharma services projects are proceeding according to timelines, meeting targets and expectations, and adhering to established operating parameters; negotiates changes in project resources as necessary to achieve objectives and timelines
  • Initiate and implement new methodologies, process and procedures that will support company long- and short-term goals
  • Supervise, hire, evaluate, and terminate staff as required
  • Work with employees to correct deficiencies
  • Recommends and implement corrective action
  • Report project progress and activity, including abnormal problems and situations
  • Participate in state, regional and national organizations, boards, councils, and committees as assigned
  • Govern IT policies and practices to remain compliant with state and national pharmacy regulations and certifications


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • Past professional experience as a developer using object oriented technologies (C#, Java, or C++ preferred)
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in managing highly available system operations to include network infrastructures, storage, and host servers
  • Experience managing cloud assets
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to truly thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with an ability to lead productive group meetings
  • Exhibits confidence in self and others; inspires and motivates
  • Previous contract and vendor management experience
  • Healthcare experience a plus
  • Prior experience managing and securing PHI or PCI data
