An Inside Sales Representative’s job necessitates determining, generating and capturing the sales outside the organization.  The main task involves taking orders of existing customers and securing prospective non-member clientele by telephone communication. It is essential for the Inside Sales Representative to provide the detailed information on various products, programs or services offered by the company.  This representative will also handle customer needs with other departments as required to ensure the best possible customer service. Act as a liaison between production, sales, shipping, admin and customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and grow existing account base revenue through effective account management
  • Providing product quotes to customers as needed
  • Using marketing data to maximize sales effectiveness and efficiency by using relevant sales management tools
  • Scheduling appointments, meeting existing customers in order to review product, and to determine other opportunities
  • Assess potential application of organization products or services and offers solutions that meet our customer’s needs
  • Liaison between the company and the customers for up-to-date condition on pricing, service and latest product release launches
  • Continuously updating all customers on company product modifications, changes, and enhancements
  • Enhancing up to date knowledge on new products, procedures, services and tools by attending departmental and training meetings
  • Maintaining professionalism, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tact to portray the company in a positive manner
  • Attend conferences and trade shows as required
  • Preparing reports for sales/marketing and maintaining expense accounts
  • Updating and maintenance of accounts including contact names and numbers for future sales
  • Ensuring follow-up after passing leads to managers with complete profile customer information, calls-to-action, sources, dates
  • Travel as necessary throughout territory to call on regular and prospective customers
  • Research and present reports showing potential customers the cost benefit of purchasing company products or services
  • Provide technical solutions to clients and communicate customer feedback into future product development
  • May provide consultation on complex projects
  • May manage the execution of complex projects
  • Use technical knowledge of lighting products and accessories to support and build sales
  • Ensure familiarity with new and standard lighting concepts, practices and procedures within in the lighting and lighting Retrofit industry
  • Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • May be asked to perform a variety of tasks to support company objectives
  • Interview customers to obtain information identify problems and provide assistance
  • Other duties may be assigned by management as deemed necessary

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the moderately complex documents
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors

  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of calculus, modern algebra, and statistical theory
Reasoning Abilities:
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
