Job Summary:
The Insurance Verification Specialist performs functions involved in the billing cycle including all customer service duties with insurance companies and patients, the verifications, pre-certifications and pre-authorizations.
Essential Functions, Duties, Responsibilities:
- Responsible for insurance verifications
- Responsible in obtaining pre-authorizations
- Must call insurance companies and occasionally contact patients to confirm certain aspects of their insurance benefits
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office
- Must be customer-service focused, organized and have extreme attention to detail
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School diploma
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in billing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 5-7 years of billing experience
