Financial Controller
Location: Onsite in West Monroe, Louisiana
Pay Rate: $110,000 – $135,000 + bonus
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Introduction
Our client is seeking a Financial Controller II to serve as a business partner for operations and help drive financial performance across two manufacturing sites. This role combines plant controlling, financial controlling, FP&A, financial reporting, and leadership responsibilities.
The Financial Controller II will oversee financial reporting for the West Monroe, LA and Austell, GA manufacturing sites, including balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, and key business metrics. This person will also identify opportunities to improve financial performance, processes, reporting tools, and systems.
Responsibilities
- Oversee accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including coordination with internal and external auditors.
- Manage fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and treasury guidelines.
- Maintain a strong internal control environment and serve as Compliance Officer for supported units.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning in partnership with operational and commercial leaders.
- Analyze cost structures, standard costs, and manufacturing variances.
- Conduct product profitability and margin analysis to identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Review financial performance and proactively identify operational and financial improvement opportunities.
- Provide clear financial insights to local leadership teams.
- Evaluate and improve financial processes, reporting tools, and systems to drive business efficiency.
- Lead, coach, and develop Finance and Controlling professionals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in controlling, financial management, FP&A, or a related finance function.
- Experience with financial statements, cost controlling, cost accounting, and product costing.
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and business partnership skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work onsite in West Monroe, Louisiana.
- Ability to travel occasionally to another supported site, up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Finance or controlling experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Plant Controller, Financial Controller, or similar background.
- Experience with JD Edwards.
- SAP experience.
- Previous leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of IFRS.
