Package handlers handle all aspects of parcels, from assembling, filling, sealing, scanning, and loading on trucks for delivery. They inspect packages to make sure they contain the correct products or materials and track items to ensure they are delivered safely in a timely manner. A package handler must have an expert eye for detail and be able to follow written and verbal instructions to pack, seal, and load packages quickly and efficiently. They must be able to use scanners to read labels for tracking purposes. 

Package handlers need to have very good communication skills, as well as knowledge of relevant tools and equipment used in package handlings, such as hand tools, forklifts, conveyor belts, wheel rollers, and other loading tools. Package handlers should have a familiarity with computers and be in good physical health to lift packages. They must follow safety procedures at all times and keep accurate records of all incoming and outgoing merchandise and products. Solid customer service and organizational skills are important in this position, as is the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with packages.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do
