Postion Summary: 

The Senior Mobile Developer is responsible for full SDLC development, leadership and training, troubleshooting and maintenance, and production support. The senior developer ensures our code is of the highest quality and keeps our applications running smoothly, efficiently and defect free. The senior developer is responsible for translating business requirements and maintaining the support structure required for development. Participating in creating new functionality, integrating and enhancing off-the-shelf and existing software, and maintaining existing systems.  Additionally the senior developer works closely with the software architect researching new technologies and processes.

In addition to general senior developer roles and responsibilities, the Senior Developer – Mobile Specialist is expected to maintain a high-level of product and development knowledge as it pertains to mobile development. This knowledge includes but is not limited to: Android, iOS, Windows Phone, native development versus cross-platform/hybrid development, HTML5, CSS, Javascript frameworks (such as Appcelerator, Xamarin, jQuery, Cordova, Angular, etc.).  The Senior Developer – Mobile Specialist also has significant experience working with APIs and SDKs from third-party partners, in particular financial services partners and social media platforms. The Senior Developer – Mobile Specialist is expected to remain up-to-date on changes in the mobile industry as well as mobile development, and make recommendations for migration to or implementation of new technologies, platforms, or trends.  This position is the go-to resource and the escalation point for all things mobile.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Be passionate about learning new technologies and increasing personal development
  • Research, design and write software to specifications
  • Create outstanding code in all tiers: user interface, business logic, data access, and database
  • Develop high availability and highly scalable applications
  • Create prototypes and proof of concepts
  • Evaluates and provides reviews and recommendations on software products
  • Create builds to build and deploy applications for testing and production use
  • Ensure solutions are released properly and the release is documented
  • Translate business requirements and problems into innovative technical solutions
  • Design and create outstanding user experiences (UI/UX) that are tailored to the mobile experience, whether it be on the web or an app
  • Responsive design creation and implementation
  • Transform products and services offered in other channels such as in person or on the desktop into compelling and exciting mobile products and services
  • Create reports and extracts from SQL server and other disparate data sources
  • Consult with management and review project proposals to determine goals, time frame, and procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources
  • Establish standards, procedures, and best practices for coding, testing, project reporting, and documentation.
  • Ensure that the development team is adhering to these practices
  • Prepare project status reports and keep management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues
  • Create and maintain technical and project documentation; including but not limited to technical documentation, FAQs, and training materials
  • Create and maintain unit and functional tests
  • Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems
  • Mentors other developers in industry best practices, procedures, and concepts; conduct code reviews and training opportunities
  • Investigate and research new technologies and techniques
  • Manage and administer the source code repository (Team Foundation Server/Git/GitHub)
  • Monitor production applications for performance and defects
  • Troubleshoot production related issues where our software is running
  • Timely and accurate completion of routine daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual support tasks
  • Participate in a rotating 24×7 on call support tree
  • Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to: U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • 5 to 7+ years of experience in the software development field
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years programming experience, with at least 2 years or more as a programming team lead or as a senior developer
  • 5+ years mobile development experience
  • 2+ years programming experience with the NET Framework
  • Mobile development certifications are a plus
  • Microsoft developer certifications are a plus: MTA, MCAD, MCPD, MCSD, MCTS
  • Bachelor’s degree obtained through a formal 4 year program at an accredited educational facility; may be waived with equivalent experience
