Sr. Business Analyst

  • Responsible for shepherding projects from ideation to funding
  • Review incoming requests/new demand
  • Define project scope with business and technology partners
  • Elicit high-level business outcomes and deliverables
  • Collect and document project budget estimates using supplied templates
  • Partner with Technology Sourcing and Procurement to conduct RFP/RFI in support of solution and estimates for initiatives
  • Work with Finance to create funding documentation (Pro forma, CAR, capitalization)
  • Prepare executive-facing status reports in collaboration with multiple team leads responsible for conducting strategic planning with partners
  • Create integrated business and technology roadmap for assigned area
  • Engage with a diverse set of stakeholders and executive business partners to gain a strong understanding of business strategies and align with technology solutions
  • Gather business demand and interpret demand into prioritized and valued business outcomes
  • Engage with technology and digital partners to align their projects and demand to roadmap responsible for supporting business analysis and project coordination efforts, as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in any of these roles/areas is a preferred: Portfolio Management, Business Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Business Relationship Management, and Strategic Planning

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Highly skilled at collaborating with business partners and translating technical terms into business language
  • Ability to work effectively with business and technology stakeholders and executive management

  • Information gathering methods, requirements documentation, and process modeling
  • Interviewing, elicitation and facilitation of IT requirement from non-technical business personnel
  • Ability to recognize value drivers and create outcome-based roadmaps to deliver against the value
  • Ability to quickly learn new business areas and understand strategy
  • Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities
  • Must be technically savvy enough to collaborate in developer terminology, and to translate complex system interactions into business objectives
  • Advanced proficiency with the following tools: Excel, Google Drive, SharePoint, Version One (preferred), Clarity PPM (preferred)
  • Must be outcome and results-oriented
  • Must be an independent, self-motivated professional with experience in a large corporate environment
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to dynamic environment; Self-aware of personal styles and benefits of adjusting communication approaches to achieve joint objectives
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, multiple-priority environment
  • Results-driven with acute attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with project initiation and funding processes
  • Scope, High level estimates, RFI/RFP/RFQ, value statement creation
  • Experience with documenting project budgets (in collaboration with various resources) and working with teams to refine and adjust
  • Must understand differences between Operating Expense, Investment Expense, and Capital
  • Experience creating technology and business roadmaps
  • At least 5 years of experience developing IT Business Cases in a cross-functional/multi-departmental environment
  • At least 3 years of experience working with or for a Portfolio and Planning team
Preferred Education:
  • Masters degree in Business or IT related field
