Our client is seeking a Solutions Engineer in Orlando, Florida. The Solutions Engineer is responsible for combining business requirements, corporate standards, as well as industry best practices to manage the delivery of enterprise solutions to internal & external customers. This role works closely with Enterprise, Security and Infrastructure Architects to create deliverables that guide the direction and development for technological responses to disruptive forces and driving targeted business outcomes. Provides the leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks required for the development of an enterprise’s core business systems. They create deliverables that help develop target-state guidance (reusable standards, guidelines, individual parts and configurations) for evolving the solutions across the enterprise, in order to enable business strategy and deliver targeted business outcomes. They facilitate and orchestrate the delivery of targeted business outcomes through technical decisions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Solution Engineering
    • Work with product and project owners to design/estimate infrastructure for projects
    • Work with implementation teams on projects
    • Consult on application and infrastructure development projects
    • Consult with operations teams to isolate and resolve issues
    • Develop key metrics to track health of systems and infrastructure
    • Assist in product life cycle management
    • Maintain an expert level of knowledge of all IT products, technologies, tools, methodologies and services used within the organization
    • Work closely with Program Office, Strategy, Delivery, Architecture, Engineering, and Support groups in achieving departmental, organizational, and company commitments
  •  Vendor Management and M&As
    • Assist vendor management in assessments of existing and perspective vendors
  • Leadership
    • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction on critical activities in order to achieve business objectives
    • Mentor other IT staff to improve their respective technical and professional skill sets


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, Business, or equivalent years of experience and training

Training Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of TOGAF framework a plus
  • Experience with Agile and SCRUM-based projects or working with rapid and iterative technical design/implementation projects

Technical Skills:

  • Technology based background with solid understanding of all relevant open systems technologies (Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Red Hat Linux 6/7, VMware, Microsoft .NET, IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, Red Hat JBoss, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle RAC/GRID, F5 BIG IP Load balancers (LTM, ASM, APM), Microsoft MS-SQL, LAN, WAN, EMC SAN (VNX, Isilon, XtremIO, DataDomain, Unity), Information Security and Compliance, Monitoring Tools)
  • Strong grasp of web technologies and architectural principles necessary for designing scalable, extensible and maintainable web applications and services
  • Familiar with infrastructure architecture design principles
  • In-depth technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems
  • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards
  • Knowledge of applicable practices and laws relating to data privacy and protection (PCI, GDPR, etc.)
  • Familiar with application and network security constructs and applications
  • Experience with automation/configuration management tools
  • Ability to write code in one or more modern languages
  • Prior developer experience is preferred
