Payroll Specialist

  • This position is primarily responsible for full cycle payroll processing for several clients companies

Essential Functions:

  • Accurately process payroll in a timely manner
  • Review downloaded payroll information for completeness and accuracy
  • Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance, 401k deductions, etc.
  • Contact various clients for any missed payroll data
  • Create payroll report for client approval
  • Post, pack out and ship payrolls on a daily basis
  • Process garnishments
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with area staff, management and clients
  • Inform management of area activities and any significant problems
  • Inform clients of payroll approval process
  • Answer client questions related to payroll
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
  • Ensure work area is clean, secure and well maintained
  • Stay abreast of laws and changes in the field of payroll at the State and Federal level

Skills/Technical Knowledge:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred; and 2 years’ experience in payroll
  • Strong knowledge of payroll software, experience working in an environment where payrolls are processed daily, HR Pyramid/Scorpeo knowledge a plus
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Good time management
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Able to maintain confidential information
