Summary:

The Senior Manager of Advertising and Promotions will oversee all functions associated with the paid advertising and promotions plan. This includes working with the Data Analyst to gather input on the target audience and overseeing the research, development, execution and optimization of media plans in effort to ensure optimal campaign performance. This role is also responsible for collaborating with the creative team on the strategy and design of all assets related to campaign, post campaign analysis and performance reporting, budgeting and forecasting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage the development of a multi-media advertising plan that reaches and engages qualified audience segments in effort to maximize overall plan ROI
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with media partners to ensure competitive advertising rates that fit within agreed upon advertising budget and goals
  • Provide top management with recommendations for best practices and competitive advantages that should be incorporated into targeted advertising strategies
  • Oversee Media Planner/Buyers/Specialists to ensure effectiveness of all advertising campaigns and strategies from research and planning to activation
  • Responsible for budget forecasting and annual planning across the organization’s portfolio of properties
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competition and recommend best practices
  • Manage and support team members by assisting with the execution of campaigns, troubleshooting problems and helping to maximize campaign performance
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for overseeing all advertising roles such as Media Planners and Buyers

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to present well-considered advertising plans, ideas and solutions
  • Strong foundation and thorough knowledge of both online and offline media
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment and can adapt plans due to changes in client objectives, priorities or budgets while minimizing impact on project momentum
  • Balanced ability to perform analytically and creatively
  • Media vendor negotiation experience
  • Media planning, broadcast and online buying experience
  • Must possess a strong digital buying background
  • Management experience
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to relate results to business objectives
  • Strong experience using Excel and all Microsoft Office products
  • Strong understanding of ratings data, such as Nielsen and Arbitron

Education and/or Experience:

  • Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Advertising from a four-year college or university and 4+ years of preferred experience in the hospitality and resort experience field, with a specific skill set of Media and Promotions

Language Skills: 

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors

Mathematical Skills: 

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
