Job Overview:  

As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for the development, deployment, and support of integration projects involving Application Integration, B2B, and EDI tools. This position will be responsible for utilizing best practices in analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment to ensure scalable, high-quality solutions.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:   

  • Communicate primarily with immediate supervisor
  • Responsible for daily communication regarding status of all assigned tasks
  • Develop accurate task definition, estimates and task schedules for own assignments
  • Responsible for maintenance of problem logs (issue logs)
  • Produce application integration solutions from detailed, written specifications in accordance with established procedures, following departmental standards, guidelines and system development methodologies on all assigned tasks
  • Participate in all aspects of the SDLC process including coding of new programs, creating new data structures, physical data record/file design, creating new jobstreams, and modifying existing programs, data structures and jobstreams
  • Contribute to the development of test cases and test plans, and conduct unit and system tests for new or modified programs and/or job streams
  • Submit program and design work for review by technical and user staff and participate in the review of program and design work of others
  • Assist in documenting new programs and changes to existing programs using department artifact standards, methodologies and best practices
  • Share in resolution of day-to-day problems within the business segment

Job Requirements:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with strong programming skills in at least OO Language (Java/J2EE, .NET, C++, etc.)
  • Experience with application/integration development (Messaging, ETL, MFT, EDI, Translation Services, etc.)
  • Experience utilizing vendor integration technology solutions such as Tibco, Axway, Informatica, etc.
  • Java experience in a 24×7 DevOps environment
  • Excellent written communication skills, strong customer focus, skilled in working with others and demonstrated ability to work in geographically dispersed teams
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages, tools, DBMS, and utilities
  • Fundamental knowledge of program design, coding, testing and documentation
  • Understand basic concept of business functions; fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization
