Description:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the planning and delivery of strategic programs
  • Build relationships across the organization in order to gain an in-depth understanding of the organization’s business model and build a trusted adviser relationship with business leaders and IT
  • Manage initiatives through advanced skills in project management and strong organizational relationships
  • Provide leadership and direction to matrixed teams to ensure the successful completion of complex enterprise programs
  • Responsible for coaching and management of ePMO resources, regular and contract

Essential Functions:

  • Quickly and effectively understand business challenges and priorities while collaborating with business leaders to identify strategic initiatives and to translate these into programs with tactical goals and objectives that are measurable
  • Responsible for the delivery of strategic initiatives
  • Work with leadership to ensure the program strategy meets the business objectives
  • Oversee all aspects of program planning, management and execution (scope, schedule and budget)
  • Responsible for creating comprehensive project timelines including sign-off from all workstreams
  • Ensure the project team creates and maintains appropriate deliverables while following organization’s standards and best practices
  • Perform intake and planning to scope and prioritize projects
  • Perform resource planning in order to meet demand, hiring staff when necessary
  • Serve as the first escalation point for project issues and risks
  • Work directly with the project teams to resolve issues and create risk mitigation plans
  • Responsible for escalating well-formulated issues and risks to leadership
  • Can effectively communicate business and technology issues and solutions
  • Drive program-level reporting to increase visibility and proactive monitoring of the program performance
  • Responsible for reporting program progress to all levels of the organization
  • Respond timely to internal or external audit inquiries
  • Work to ensure all audit findings are appropriately documented and re-mediated
  • Responsible for proactive management in areas such as risks, budget/forecast, dependencies, etc.
  • Prepare strategic analysis of potential business and/or operational opportunities as needed
  • Lead budget creation and management with business, technology and finance leadership
  • Responsible for updated actuals and forecasts
  • Responsible for leading cross-functional teams, internal and external, through all phases of the project lifecycle to achieve project objectives
  • Encourage collaboration and ensures that all view points are represented and explored
  • Build effective working relationships with the business and IT while holding team members accountable
  • Work to become a valued partner with the business and IT
  • Coach and manage the ePMO team
  • Manage associate performance by effectively communicating expectations and providing regular feedback with recommendations for development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
  • A Master’s degree in a related field preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in formal project management required
  • 4+ years of management experience leading cross-functional teams required
  • 4+ years of management experience leading and managing a staff required
  • Other healthcare or managed care experience preferred
  • Other information technology experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
