Scrum Master Description:
As servant leaders, Scrum Masters are often referred to as guardians of their Scrum Team(s). They help to ensure Scrum Teams deliver results that align with business and organization priorities/goals. Scrum Masters contribute towards improving business agility. Scrum Masters are responsible for ensuring the team lives agile values/principles and follows the processes and practices the team agrees to use. For our client, the Scrum Master reports to the Senior Product Delivery Manager in the Product Innovation & Delivery department.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Identify and remove impediments from the team; protect from outside interruptions and distractions
- Establish an environment where the team can be effective; address team dynamics
- Guide, coach and motivate agile teams with goals of delivering value, speeding up delivery/increasing productivity
- Passionate about and able to teach agile methodologies including but not limited to Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, Lean principles, SAFe, and LeSS
- Organize and lead Scrum ceremonies
- Communicate with stakeholders; liaison to Project Managers/PMO to oversee and manage scope, timeline, quality, goals and deliverables that support business goals
- Prepare and present reports regarding progress and success of agile teams
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- 3-5 years of experience playing the Scrum Master role for software development teams
- Experience in agile techniques such as User Stories, ATDD, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration
- Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games etc.
- Experience in agile/scrum development team tools such as Jira
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) required; Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Product
- Owner (CSPO) a plus
- 3-5 years of experience with agile practices, patterns and techniques
