Description:
- Performs network and systems design and architecture by taking into account industry best practices and requirements as part of designing enterprise-scale distributed information systems
- Including, but not limited to, the development of WAN/LAN/MAN networks
- Unified Communications, Wireless, Security, and client access systems
- Leads the overall technical information architecture strategy and assists with the development and implementation of the long term information design and systems strategy
- Assists in defining the Enterprise Technology Architecture
- Identify and evaluate technical solutions and work with the development infrastructure and compliance teams to architect solutions
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads requirement solicitation, system analysis, technical design, programming and documentation of information systems from a network/systems point of view
- Develops, maintains, and enforces infrastructure designs, standards, and best practices
- Provides technical training, mentoring and coaching of staff on effectively applying network and systems tools, techniques, and best practices
- Keeps up to date on the latest technologies, supplier product development, and industry trends
- Participates in the Architecture Review Board to review new project designs
- Assists development, infrastructure, and compliance teams to create the architecture artifacts required as part of the infrastructure engineering process
- Maintains architecture and engineering standards, guidelines and best practices
- Builds “proof of concepts” to demonstrate new technologies
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education:
- A Master’s Degree in a related field or IT or equivalent work experience (Required)
Work Experience:
- 7+ years experience working in Information Technology in technical roles
- Experience with at least two of the following technologies:
- TCP/IP network design, implementation, administration, and support
- Network security design, implementation, administration, and support
- Network management and monitoring
- Remote access and VPN’s
Licenses and Certifications:
- CCNP, CCDP, Cisco Security, Network+, CCIE
- Network/systems design, implementation, or diagnostics
- Internet Technologies and Routing, Firewalls and Network Security
- Authentication Security, Remote Access and VPNs, Network Management, and Diagnostics
Skills:
- Ability to train other associates Intermediate
