Job Summary/Purpose:

Quality assurance (QA)/Test Automation Engineers are in charge of supervising quality standards and automation efforts for their organization. They are responsible for generating and maintaining scripts to automate testing and verify results. QA/Test Automation Engineers implement automation strategies using a variety of test cases to facilitate production, as well as conduct daily tests to verify current quality standards and identify possible defects.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Integrate test automation industry standards and best practices
  • Execute automated test suite
  • Review regression test cases
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts
  • Create library of custom functions
  • Define test strategies and test manuals for tracking and fixing software issues
  • Develop and execute test cases to diagnose issues and bugs, creating test data when required
  • Participate in defining and communicating best practices

Education:

  • B.A./B.S. in Computer Science is preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant quality assurance or automation environment
  • Solid understanding of system frameworks and scripting languages
  • Preference given for experience in the property/casualty insurance field
  • Preference given for individual with industry certifications

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent PC skills (including MS Word, Excel and Access)
  • Experience with XML is a plus
  • Experience in Visual Basics and Selenium a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Business process understanding
  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills
  • A highly organized individual who works well under pressure with a “whatever it takes” approach to complete tasks to meet tight deadlines-to go above and beyond while remaining keenly focused on quality
  • Ability to work well with other engineers in a team setting, however also be able to work effectively on own with minimal supervision
