Description:

We are seeking an PL/SQL Data Warehouse Developer. This is a hands-on position. This position will design, develop, maintain and refactor data warehouse structures and ETL to support Business Intelligence, Reporting and Operational applications. This role will also maintain, develop, refactor and debug operational data extracts and internal database applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop maintain and refactor data warehouse structures and ETL to support the business intelligence and reporting tools; using OWB (Oracle Warehouse Builder) or similar tools; and PL/SQL, SQL, ETL (extract, transform and load), Toad, SQL Developer and SQL Plus
  • Be a resource for users and team members to solve reporting questions, problems and new change requests
  • Optimize SQL, PL/SQL, ETL code and database objects to ensure performance, uptime and scalability for production data warehouse products
  • Create and maintain data extracts using Unix/Linux shell scripts, SQL Plus and SQL Loader, crontab, procedures, packages, triggers, functions
  • Support, enhance, refactor and update internal database applications
  • Maintain applicable source code and deploy to new or existing environments using liquibase, svn, tfs as needed
  • Take part in project planning sessions in an AGILE Environment and analyze business requirements, outline the proposed solution, and provide design documents for project team
  • Create high-level work estimates for proposed projects
  • Provide support for software releases as needed
  • Provide backup coverage for other database development projects as needed
  • Be in rotation for on-call/off-hours support for critical systems

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of Oracle PL/SQL or data warehouse development
  • 7+ years of experience with a combination of data warehouse, Oracle PL/SQL and report development
  • 2+ years of experience using any common reporting tools (Cognos, Microstrategy, etc.)
  • Ability to create and tune complex SQL
  • Experience with Oracle analytic functions, partitioning, parallel processing, hints, surrogate keys, business keys
  • Linux/Unix scripting (KSH)
  • Ability to work independently as well as a key contributor in a team environment
  • Ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects and meet deadline
