Job Description:

  • The Network Administrator’s role is to maintain and administer the voice, data, and wireless network services.
  • Must have a strong understanding of networking fundamentals and analytical skills
  • Must have strong troubleshooting skills of local area (LAN) and wide area networks to restore business functions in a timely fashion
  • Will participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Configure and deploy wireless infrastructure, firewalls, routers, switches and other hardware
  • Configure and administer networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed
  • Collaborate with senior network engineers, management and other IT departments to support their projects and initiatives
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records
  • Analyze data, voice or video network documentation and assists in communicating to management regarding the current operational status of networks

Required Technical Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Network Administrator role
  • 3+ years of experience Supporting LAN’s, WAN’s, TCP/IP and associated networking
  • 3+ years of experience with telecommunications systems including VoIP telephony
  • Preferred certifications: Cisco CCNA (INCD1 and INCD2, Juniper JNCIA, Juniper JNCIS, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+)
  • Working knowledge of wide area monitoring and connectivity troubleshooting skills

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field

Other Key Qualifications:

  • Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex technical problems
  • Great written and verbal communications skills

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree supplemented by 3+ years of progressive IT experience preferred
