Responsibilities:

  • Manages network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures
  • Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor
  • Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation
  • Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support
  • Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets; monitoring expenses
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team environment

Network Administrator Skills and Qualifications:

  • Network Design and Implementation, Problem Solving, Strategic Planning, Multi-tasking, Quality Focus, Coordination, Technical Understanding, Quick Study, Technical Zeal
  • Some after-hours work should be expected
  • Cisco Meraki firewalls and secure systems
  • Barracuda Backups
  • Microsoft Office 2010/2013/2016 support experience, Outlook as Hosted Exchange client experience
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Information Technology (or equivalent experience)
  • MCSE/CCNA Certifications preferred
  • 5+ years as a Sr. Network Administrator/Engineer or IT Manager Level

Knowledge In The Following Areas Very Beneficial:

  • Multi-Site interoperability of applications; including VPN performance and IPSec strategies
  • Hosted Applications; Hosted Email; Data-Center hosted server(s) and or management of complete hosted environment
  • Some TelCo, VoIP, and traditional PBX experience helpful but not required
  • Microsoft SQL Database experience, setting up maintenance plans, performing queries etc.
