The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for the planning, implementation and management of network security infrastructure, as well as network and telecommunication systems (including LAN, WAN, Wireless, and VoIP) in an enterprise environment. Candidates should possess in depth work experience with firewall management (preferably CheckPoint) and all aspects of network management and implementation, including, but not limited to MPLS, VPN, routing, switching and traffic monitoring.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in planning and network architecture design
  • Manage, maintain, support and enhance network security
  • Manage, maintain, support and enhance the existing network infrastructure (Cisco, Checkpoint, Juniper, Riverbed, Aruba, Adtran, Brocade, Mitel) enterprise-wide
  • Supports all aspects of WAN, LAN, VOIP, wireless and telecom services and connectivity to/from our client’s 60+ locations, including video transport
  • Research, evaluate and implement new products/platform utilizing industry best practices
  • Develop internal documentation, technical standard and best practices for key systems and services
  • Proactively monitor and audit the health and availability of our client’s network infrastructure
  • Performs network problem resolution, root cause analysis (RCA) and assist in ensuring 24×7 availability of services and infrastructure across our client’s locations
  • Work collaboratively with 3rd-Party support vendors

Experience/Skills Required: 

  • 5+ years of related experience in a Network Administrator/Engineer role performing design, planning and implementation of enterprise networks
  • Expert-level experience with firewall design and administration (preferably Checkpoint)
  • Expert-level experience securing complex network infrastructures utilizing industry best practices and standards
  • Advanced-level experience monitoring complex network infrastructures for health and security
  • Advanced-level experience with designing and implementing high available networks
  • Advanced-level experience with LAN/WAN technologies and protocols (MPLS, VPN, BGP)
  • Ideal candidates should possess Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or higher certification
  • Ideal candidates should possess a minimum of one (1) of the following:
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – R&S
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – Security
    • Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
  • Experience with Change Management and other ITSM processes
  • Ability to apply industry concepts to unfamiliar technologies
  • Must have strong multi-tasking, coordination, organization and time management skills
  • Must be task and detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to work in fast paced, dynamic, and deadline oriented business environment
  • Must be able to see the “big picture” of business needs and how they relate to the infrastructure
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player
  • Experience working with Telco Carriers and Third Party Vendors
