Responsibilities:

  • Successfully processes and closes 1st mortgage portfolio, home equity, construction, and/or investor mortgage loans
  • Performs routine tasks associated with processing and closing
  • Performs a wide variety of routine tasks associated with processing and closing mortgage loans
  • Completes tasks and meets all conditions associated with loan approval in accordance with GSE, PMI, FHA, USDA guidelines
  • Performs various types of verifications of employment, and calculations of income, assets, mortgage, rents, and loans
  • Reviews and validates documents that support application facts; this includes, but is not limited to, employment and income, analysis of tax returns, analysis of asset documentation, payment history, liabilities, and real estate owned
  • Obtains corrections and written explanations of any material differences from facts shown on original application
  • Reviews title insurance commitments, appraisals, surveys, and pest inspections for accurate information
  • Verifies adequate coverage of hazard and flood insurance
  • Updates loan origination system with verified information and dates to ensure complete and accurate documents and tracking
  • Proactively creates and maintains a close communication relationship with all parties involved in the mortgage transaction to ensure timely fulfillment of documentation requirements and established SLA’s
  • Answers mortgage applicants’ questions, and returns all phone calls and electronic communications in a timely manner and in accordance with established performance standards and benchmarks
  • Follows-up with members and vendors within prescribed time frames for previously requested information in order to meet closing deadlines
  • Responsible for accurate and compliant re-disclosures of loan amount, term, rate, and closing costs
  • Prepares and submits completed file for submission to Mortgage Insurance Company and/or Underwriter that meets all guidelines and other investors as applicable
  • Stays current with all requirements to meet all underwriting guidelines prior to submission of file for final underwriting approval
  • Reviews and compares Loan Estimate and draft Closing Disclosure to ensure all items are accurate, changes of circumstance have been correctly documented, and required time frames for closing requirements have been met
  • Reviews daily pipeline reports and pipeline views to ensure files are adequately disbursed in accordance with established performance standards and timeframes
  • Assists with questions regarding mortgage applications in process
