Job Summary:

The Insurance Verification Specialist performs functions involved in the billing cycle including all customer service duties with insurance companies and patients, the verifications, pre-certifications and pre-authorizations.

Essential Functions, Duties, Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for insurance verifications
  • Responsible in obtaining pre-authorizations
  • Must call insurance companies and occasionally contact patients to confirm certain aspects of their insurance benefits
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office
  • Must be customer-service focused, organized and have extreme attention to detail
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High School diploma
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of experience in billing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 5-7 years of billing experience
