Description: 

The Insurance Licensing Manager, reporting to the Director of Licensing and Agent Support, provides the hands-on support and guidance for a team of insurance licensing professionals. It is expected to take the lead on ensuring productivity goals are met, quality of work product is maintained and processes are streamlined, all while operating within mandated industry guidelines and best business practices. This role will lead the charge for innovative process changes within the department.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead and direct team members in providing a superior level of service to agents and maintaining the business relationships required of a critical operational function through a data-driven approach
  • Manage resources for maximum effectiveness in a positive culture, ensuring daily work is processed within established standards for productivity and quality
  • Adhere to state insurance regulation requirements as well as internal business practices and procedures
  • Assist with developing and revising effective operational policies and procedures
  • Effectively conduct regular team and individual meetings
  • Coach, mentor and develop employees to achieve production goals and encourage personal development
  • Work to ensure clear, seamless and regular communication with the Agent Support, Sales and Compliance departments

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the financial or insurance industry is required
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of previous management/direct supervision experience is also required
  • Experience with the licensing function in the insurance industry is highly preferred
  • The ability to serve as a change agent capable of creative problem solving while fostering a supportive and exciting environment
  • Technologically savvy, highly proficient within the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word in particular)
  • Track record of successfully driving process improvement efforts
  • Effective communication and relationship management skills
