The role of an Employee Benefit Plans Assistant is to support the Employee Benefit Plans department in servicing existing clients and supporting the outside sales team.


  • Answer questions regarding plan provisions
  • Assist with enrollment meetings
  • Assist in processing loans and distributions

Account Management Activities: 

  • Prepare Monthly Asset Value report
  • Prepare Monthly Business Metrics report
  • Monthly Fee Audit
  • Quarterly Invoice of Trustee Services

Investments Related Activities:

  • Review Monthly Mutual Fund report
  • Quarterly update of model portfolio performance

Tax Activities:

  • Assist client and record keeper with preparation of Form 5500

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Relationship management activities
  • Customer relationship management and related retirement plans
  • Service activities
  • Monitor phone calls from plan participants
  • Manage assigned book of plans
  • Incident management
  • General office activities
  • Scanning, filing, faxing and mailing

Required Qualifications: 

  • Basic understanding of 401(k) and 403(b) plans
  • Basic knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Detail-oriented and quality driven
  • Adhere to policies and procedures ensuring compliance
  • Work well in a team environment
  • “Can-do” attitude
  • Manage work based on priorities and timelines

Desired Qualifications: 

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience with 401(k) and 403(b) plans
  • Basic understanding of ERISA
  • Basic understanding of retirement plan legal documents
  • Concepts of retirement plan administration
  • Basic understanding of mutual funds and investments
