Purpose of the Position:

The Career Services Advisor is responsible for, but not limited to, career services functions and duties for online as they relate to providing career services to students, graduates and alumni by building relationships with employers. This position is also responsible for providing counseling to our students on resume writing, interview techniques, and dressing for success.

Overview of Role:

The Career Services Advisor will be given 20 new graduates from our client and cover a specific geographic area (ie – Dallas, San Fran, Brooklyn). They are required to make 80+ OUTBOUND calls (some cold, some warm) to healthcare companies in that geography, ask about openings, and help the graduates they represent get an interview. They will coach, interview prep the graduate, coordinate any interviews with the company. The goal is to get the graduate the job.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing plans to achieve graduation employment goals
  • Build effective relationships with local and regional corporations, non-profit and government organizations and community partners to identify employment opportunities and to promote the school’s qualified students, graduates and alumni within the healthcare field
  • Cold calls hiring managers to generate interviews for graduates
  • Complete telephone interviews and e-mail correspondence to prospective employers to determine the their employment needs
  • Assist students and graduates in securing employment in their field of training
  • Provide career coaching, including seminars and workshops on interviewing techniques and other job search skills training to students and alumni
  • Ensure the up-to-date maintenance of the career services database, documentation, reports and students records in accordance with company policies, government regulations and accreditation standards
  • Consistently meet department metrics and quotas including number of dials, talk time, interviews, hires and monthly quota of placed graduates

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree or higher, HIGHLY preferred
